The CHC50113 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care is designed for those looking to continue working in the childcare industry with long term prospects of becoming a child care centre supervisor or manager.

By undertaking this nationally accredited qualification, you will be provided with the knowledge and skills required to manage the care of children in the following ways;

Supervise and/or manage those engaged to run activities for groups of children during the day who are responsible for;

  • Positively interacting with all children, nurturing their confidence and self esteem
  • Ensuring a clean and healthy environment for all children
  • Participating in supervising indoor/outdoor environments to provide safety for the children at all times
  • Planning engaging activities, good communication skills, manage a budget, supervise employees
  • Designing and implementing curriculum and approved learning framework within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard.

The Yorke Institute Experience

Yorke Institute will organize all work placement hours for you at various prestigious child care facilities.  This will be conducted in an actual operational child care facility so that you will be able to interact with skilled staff and children. This interaction will provide you with a greater depth of understanding and knowledge of how the facility operates. Yorke Institute has chosen facilities that have ongoing employment opportunities that may result in employment for students who successful complete their qualification.

We provide relevant advice and learnindirection A pre-training review to assess course suitability and entry level for each individual will be conducted. This may result in a recommended learning pathway to help you meet course specific requirements.

We offer guidancand support  Our courses are structured with due dates and a realistic number of assessments to assist you to complete the course requirements with ease.On campus learning provides you with face to face contact, and offers the opportunity to study in an inclusive and supportive environment.

Work Placement

You will be required to complete 240 hours of work placement during the course. Yorke Institute will organize the work placement at various prestigious child care facilities. Working with Children check and/or Police check required before work placement is undertaken .

Training

Theory training is conducted in Melbourne CBD. Practical training will be undertaken in an operational childcare facility in Melbourne.  This training is delivered with Victorian and Commonwealth Government funding. People with disabilities are encouraged to apply

Entry Requirement

There are no pre-requisites required for this course.

Yorke requires students to be over 18 years of age.  Students must be able to read and understand English to undertake this course. Prospective students will be required to undertake a pre-training review, which will include Language Literacy and Numeracy testing, to ensure the course is suitable.
