Chief Executive Officer’s Message Yorke Institute has achieved yet another milestone with the opening of its new city campus at Level 9/140 Queen Street in Melbourne CBD. From its humble beginnings at the Richmond campus, it has now expanded to the city campus after 10 years. The new campus is located along the prestigious Queen Street business precinct near the landmark Flinders Street Station, trams lines and the famous Bourke Street Mall. The campus is fitted with modern facilities and classrooms with breathtaking views of the city skyline. “We are very pleased indeed to move to the city. The Richmond campus is historical for us as it was our first campus and we’ve been there for 10 years but this move was necessary to meet our clients’ needs. Since our clients are mostly students who live in the CBD area or commute by public transports we realized that the move to the city was strategic and sensible in line with our clients’ preferences. This is a new beginning for Yorke and its team and we are excited to embark on this journey.” Kamini Jenarthan, CEO of Yorke Institute

 Other Developments at Yorke Institute

Healthcare Programs

2016 was an exciting year for Yorke Institute as it commenced a suite of healthcare and community service courses including Individual Support, Aging Support and Leisure and Health.

Students commenced work placements in several prestigious Nursing Homes sourced by Yorke Iinstitute like the Baptcare, Regis, Viewbank whilst others were placed based on the selection by students based on their proximity to their homes. Most students who were placed by Yorke Institute were offered permanent to part time positions ranging from Carers to health and lifestyle personnel in nursing homes and community centres.

Early Childhood Education and Care

Yorke has commenced delivering CHC30113 Certificate III of Early Childhood Education and Care and CHC50113 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care. To ensure the delivery meets high quality education standards,  Yorke Institute has entered into agreements with several Childcares around Melbourne for practical training as well as placement opportunities for its students.

Yorke’s relationship with the industry stakeholder is to maintain currency for its programs as well as to open up ongoing employability opportunities for Yorke’s students.

Yorke is excited to offer its Certificate III in EAL courses. Students have the option of completing the course over the period of 26 weeks or 50 weeks.

Both courses have the same title but differ in duration and elective units that are designed to suit the  individual needs.

We recognize that every student’s needs and capability to learn English will differ based upon their background so we have carefully designed the courses to enable them to learn at a different pace although both outcomes lead towards the same qualification. Our goal is to ensure that our learners ultimately benefit and enjoy from the experience of learning English.

Short Courses

Yorke’s city campus will now offer short courses in First Aid, Infection Control and a range of healthcare programs. These programs will be offered to learners who wish to upskill or maintain currency in their professional field of work.

Distance Learning

Yorke has now developed an innovative and interactive online programs for its healthcare, childcare, business and management courses. Some courses may not have full online options particularly the practical components of the course which require face to face training. The online option is also not available to international students on student visa who will be required to select CRICOS programs at Yorke Institute .
